STEP 1
Find a 1A location (like here i.e. on a beach)
Just one idea for coodo:
Flexibility: You start with a Bistro and your initial assumption for a good location proves wrong? No need to make a fuss out of it. Just find a better location and move your Bistro there. For instance – in the summer place it at the seaside; during the winter move it to an alpine ski resort.
Speed: Time to implement can be much shorter when compared to the traditional Bistro.
coodo is becoming recognised as ‘unique’, by many banks as a liquid investment (of course you’ll need your competitive edge and well-thought-out business model in place).
Each bistro should have its own story, look & feel. That’s why it’s necessary to give each Bistro a personalisation ,which can be a good logo already. You can select from different colours and textures of a facade system. Together we can find fresh solutions for interior design. Should you have your own interior designers, we would love to work with them to produce a totally new look and feel for your Bistro. Another important decision is, how big is the coodo unit that you need ,which modules you would require at the beginning of the operation and how you intend to grow by adding new modules.
coodo has a fully mobile structure, transported by truck and lifted by autocrane. The structure sits on six or eight levelling legs and is not attached to a foundation. For most of the countries, you can place the unit without the additional bureaucracy ,as it can be moved in less than 24 hours. It is however differently regulated from country to country, from region to region, even from city to city. This is why we recommend that you speak to the relevant local authorities. The ground where coodo will be placed should by fairly even and ground structure should support the load of the coodo (during operations up to 8 tons, equally distributed between levelling legs). The infrastructure should already be in place, so that coodo could be directly connected to electricity, water and waste water systems. There are several alternative self-sufficient systems that could be provided if needed.
The main idea of project modularity, is to have one main module, where you have the equipped bistro and storage room. A toilet could be added by using a larger coodo module as a base for a bistro, or adding a smaller coodo module where you can, for instance, implement a separate section for children and babies. The concept of coodo is to produce an experience of open living – connecting seamlessly inside to the outside. The larger part of the glazing, could be opened by our folding and sliding door system.
For us design is the foundation for a low carbon future and is the most effective solution to climate change – even more so than renewable energy. Design allows us to do more with less. Following this basic principle, we managed to implement very energy efficient building, in terms of good insulation, heating&cooling, led lighting and space used. Many coodos are also constructed to endure strong earthquakes, high winds and thunderstorms. Another sustainable approach of coodo, is its minimal disruption to the environment. Being fully mobile and relatively lightweight, this new generation of living structures, will not have issues of redevelopment of old buildings and the land stays as it is, using coodo as the choice for development. In utilising state-of-the-art materials for production, the lifespan of a coodo unit, with ongoing maintenance, is extensive.
Following the business analysis of the profitability of a bistro, there are several important aspects of having some start-up capital and getting the right financial partner on board your project.
Go to several banks/leasing companies to determine how much are they willing to finance the café (80% or even 100%).
Have about 30.000 EUR in cash ready for the first several months of the bistro operation and inventory supplies always on stock including, for opening promotions.
Ready? Get set. Go!
